I suppose the RSPs are only just getting their act into gear by starting to offer speeds they advertise. Aussie Broadband - simply the best. posted 2018-Mar-6, 10:42 am AEST I am a huge fan(boy) of AussieBB but like you I have experienced some issues when playing games – WoW in particular. I can easily adjust to consistent lag/ping/latency (even if it puts me at a disadvantage), but having it wildly vary (bad jitter), or add stuttering (packet loss) into the mix and things just go pear shaped; there's no way you can compensate for that as a gamer. The delivery network that services you is constantly changing. posted 2018-Mar-5, 1:53 pm AEST Can you be absolutely certain there's no issues at Layer 1? I may have contacted aussiebb support about this once or twice but the tickets on the webpanel disappear and don't show you if anyone has replied ( at least for me it doesn't, seems buggy ) and to be honest ive given up.

posted 2018-Mar-7, 2:32 pm AEST I don't think its good to assign priority based on bandwidth usage.

You are in Western Australia, so if you post some server addresses that are problematic for you, then maybe some other Aussie customers in WA can test for you. posted 2018-Jun-25, 7:39 pm AEST

but its consistent, every single time i play or try to watch a stream Ive said this before but Picking an ISP these days is just a lucky dip, you might get a shit ISP but for you its awesome service, others might have a really good and highly recommended isp but their experience is bad, The only solution seems to be switch providers until one just works for you, Hopefully i can find another isp soon with no contract as isp contracts are the biggest scam in history and paying 100+ dollars monthly for a service that only HALF works is a huge scam. posted 2018-Mar-5, 4:02 pm AEST For example as a warrior my shield bash key will activate in the client or the looting is delayed but won't be reflected in the game for another 2-3 seconds. if it was HFC specific i would of had the problem since day one ?Yes, I suggest doing that. posted 2018-Mar-5, 4:58 pm AEST
Your home or business deserves an Internet provider that delivers super fast connectivity and lighting fast customer service.

Will be leaving aussie BB - 7ish month review. Aussie Broadband’s NBN 50 plans start at $75 per month whereas Superloop begins at $73.95. If an ISP runs a quality network with good international and local links and minimal congestion that should be more than sufficient to support a quality gaming experience. posted 2018-Mar-7, 2:32 pm AEST Full speed on FTTP (150/100) and no problems with Steam downloads, etc. It is only occasionally I have hiccups. Good point about the US server. but its consistent, every single time i play or try to watch a stream.Unfortunately, if you have a problem at the electrial layer, you may have no choice but to followup this up before going any further and looking at other RSP's.Looks like NBN understands there can be problems with stuff that's been buried for 40 years.EDIT* Agreed with gaming traffic being 1% of total bandwidth, not 1% of total internet utilization by time (this would be much higher). posted 2018-Mar-6, 1:45 pm AEST There's a reason the roll out was halted for HFC, to resolve the kind of issue you are now seeing and worse. Leaving messages on game forums won't achieve much.I'd argue that jitter and packet loss are even more important than ping. There's not really any more than can realistically do AFAIK. I also never had issues streaming from netflix / twitch / youtube, i always watched twitch on 720p 60fps with no issues, netflix on highest setting, youtube to max settings etc, Now if i dont watch twitch or youtube on 360p or lower it buffers like im on dialup, probably worse than dialup and netflix is set to also, i dunno if this is more frustrating than the gaming issues.Great numbers are relative, have your local speed test numbers fallen away too – are the numbers the same as day 1 or there and there abouts?I may have contacted aussiebb support about this once or twice but the tickets on the webpanel disappear and don't show you if anyone has repliedMost days I have no problems. Focus on the local content, get that right first and all else should fall into line – V90 user experiences on local content means something is broken nearby.I'm not a gamer, but couldn't OP avoid the server issue he's having by using a VPN?Just curious, what server are you pinging when you have packet loss and at what hop is it happening?? posted 2018-Mar-5, 6:21 pm AEST and this, due to the elasticity of open access networks and the greater internet as a wholeIMO, finding a good RSP also means how they partner with me in helping me with my comms requirements when shtf.

The way I look at it is this, you chose Aussie for a reason, are you prepared to do a little legwork, perhaps a lot of legwork to stay on? posted 2018-Mar-6, 7:54 pm AEST is it even inside the ABB network, might want to post some evidence to back your claims before posting a negative rant about the company, which contrary to your opening statement... it is.his can be due to HFC issues which will follow you to the next ISP if not fixed by NBN.if it happened rarely i wouldn't really mind. Apart from MyRepublic I haven't seen an RSP advertise gaming credentials.

Another MMO, Elder Scrolls Online with its single server in middle USA, clocks up 240-270ms on ABB versus an near-unplayable 340+ on Vocus. I couldn't be happier with ABB's performance and routing when it comes to online gaming in general. There sounds like a good opportunity for one to attract the gamer segment.Everything else is working great. posted 2018-Mar-6, 9:01 pm AEST
