All the must haves for a great review, but I didn't like the main character. Last year, Buzzfeed culture writer Anne Helen Petersen struck a chord with her viral article “How Millennials Became the Burnout Generation.”...Carrie Schmidt (Reading is My SuperPower) Ashe lost his mother at age seven; had a heart attack in his late thirties, forcing his retirement from professional tennis; was the only Black tennis pro for decades; and then acquired AIDS from a transfusion during one of many life-saving surgeries. This book kept my interest, but I didn't love it and probably wouldn't reccomend it to anyone. Incredible. The stories are varied and range from Amish to Historical to Contemporary to Allegory, and all share a central truth from the Bible. It’s the kind of devotional that would be perfect to read while drinking a cup of tea or coffee. Perhaps, in the end, the reader might think there is hope for one of the characters, but basically, these are unhappy pBucking the "Goodreads" 3.5 trend, I give this one 5 stars. Filled with fictional stories written by best-selling novelists, Angela Hunt, Cindy Woodsmall, Deb Raney, Cecil Murphy, Kathy Ide, etal, as well as lesser-known but just as talented writers such as Robin Bayne, Roxanne Anderson, and many others. For me, the book had one problem - it's always difficult to create a character with a nameless charisma, and I didn't feel that the character of Grace ever quite merited the adoration Nora bestowed on her.
