No there is massive issues with nest wifi at the moment and it seems to be bad on Aussie hfc (but not sure if any other providers have same issues).I’ve had it connected for about 3 months now.

Currently my Google router has a WAN IP of 192.168.x.x which is the LAN subnet on the Archer 1600V.

I recently purchased the google nest router and since I've started using it with the NBN connection, it's been very unstable for some reason. I’m trying to connect 3x google mesh to TSmart Modem model #DJA0230. It all works with the modem and phone connected. Same result.Depending on that you might be able to switch off DHCP and WiFi on the HG659 and let the Google WiFi do all the routing, although I just had a quick look at a HG659 and can't see an option to disable NAT separately. I understand that the yellow flashing light from the Nest Wifi means that there is no internet connection but the HFC box has all working signals.
For FTTP, FTTC, HFC, and Fixed Wireless To connect you will need your nbn™ device and the Google router. Contrary to what everyone else is telling you here, I have not experienced a problem with the Nest Wifi. If you wish to use a third party modem/router for your NBN HFC technology.
FYI for the TP-Link Archer 1600V I have successfully setup the Google Wifi.https://community.tpg.com.au/t5/Broadband-Internet/Alternate-router-to-use-on-HFC/m-p/863#M2149I have the NBN with TPG, over HFC. I connected the Google WiFI to the LAN1 port on the Archer router and continued to successfuly setup the Google Wifi via the Google Home app. Vodafone has provided me a router (they call it WiFi Hub and comes with 4G backup) and NBN has provided me a modem (black box).
Our new black nbn HFC modem is shining solid green lights in all four dots.
Reply Ditch anything your ISP sent and connect the Google master node directly to that. Typically Nest Wifi / Google Wifi plugs into the WAN port of your router, but if you have NBN HFC you have a separate ugly black box that plugs in there.
