Any reason why you want/need a Cisco IOS router for at home?
as i said, i think the processing required for VDSL is killing it. Do I really need to go to a 1941 to get 100Mbs?Which IOS version are you running, some versions can have processing bugs that result in abnormal CPU usage. posted 2017-Mar-7, 10:44 pm AEST Hi, I have a Cisco 1801W that I … posted 2017-Oct-22, 12:21 pm AEST Cisco has always been a little bit cagey about their bandwidth numbers. But if you threw nothing but 64 byte packets at the router, you might get substantially less. from March 2017; to October 2017; last updated – posted 2017-Oct-24, 12:11 pm AEST posted 2017-Oct-24, 12:11 pm AEST User #124878 792 posts. Might be easier to just use a bridged modem.thanks for the the suggestion, just tried with this ios version (had to specify the firmware for the vdsl module this time) ..... same thing , around the same speed, 99% cpu.... :( posted 2017-Oct-22, 1:18 pm AEST posted 2017-Mar-7, 11:11 am AEST O.P. posted 2017-Mar-7, 6:21 pm AEST posted 2017-Oct-21, 4:22 pm AEST posted 2017-Mar-7, 10:14 pm AEST posted 2017-Mar-8, 9:51 am AEST But, it still doesn't seem to work. And I wouldn't want anything less than 802.11ac today.

a Netgear V7610 however I am needing something more reliable, rack mounted and high end where I can simply bridge the VDSL to the Ethernet port on the bridge and then connect it into a port designated WAN on our existing router.

If you want to get better performance you can look at dropping some of the functions on the device to see what type of impact this will have.
