This is a great school and the majority of professors genuinely care about you and are always available to chat. When I applied to schools I had actually applied to a total of 10 schools overall (3 universities, 5 colleges, RMC, and NSCC). I started at Algoma U 12 years ago and loved every moment of it. Being able to have so many opportunities to experience engaging in real-world problem solving research at the undergraduate level is something that would be much more diffiult at larger universities. There are art mediums I wish I could learn but neither prof can teach it. There is a true sense of community here and because class sizes are so small, you build real relationships with your professors and peers. We have very little cultural diversity and not everyone is accepting to non-white people. The only thing I will say is that because of the way our courses run (every 1, 2, 5 or 10 years) there are time where a lot of your courses are reflecting similar content and it feels like all of your course content is the same even though it truly is luck of the draw it can be slightly annoying for individuals who prefer more diversity.
