In general it was cool to see the detail in stills because unless you worked on the film or like to pause a film a lot you usually don't interact with the medium in this way.Be advised, this is not a "Art of [pick a movie]" type of book! Just as dialog, acting, and music are tools filmmakers use to convey meaning and emotion, color can be used to the same effect. I'm Not sure the colour works on all pages but it's a nice little book to flick through.While this is an intriguing concept, collecting static scenes from Pixar movies and arranging them across the color spectrum, the execution isn't at all what I would have hoped or wanted.

My 9 year old and I sat looking at it while hiding from my younger son who would have claimed it as his own and would never have let us return it. I wish they explained the color more and gave more context on their creative intention for each scene. August 2017 It was super short but had a lot of great images from Pixar films. In LOVE with this book. It’s literally just screen grabs. Amazing little, but thick, book for any artist or pixar fan. It isn't so much that each color is exactly dominating in each scene as much as it highlights that color and how it's used. Starting with bright white images and seamlessly flowing through the colors of the rainbow, it becomes crystal clear how each frame tells a story.
The forward says that you see each of these shots for 1/24th of a second. Just under 4 stars - visually stunning but lacking something. What a gorgeous book.
