Robert Lyall "Alfie" Hannaford AM, (born 9 November 1944) is an Australian realist artist notable for his drawings, paintings, portraits and sculptures. After 3 years as the political cartoonist on the 'Adelaide Advertiser' in the mid 60's he has made his living from painting and sculpture.

Born in Sydney, he joined the ABC as a broadcaster after studying and teaching Russian at the Australian National University and Moscow State University. He is a great-great-great-grandson of Susannah Hannaford.
